As we build up to the release of Empath, my brand new contemporary fantasy novel, I wanted to use the #MondayBlog posts to talk about some terrifying things. Not monsters or dragons, but the actual fears that I live with every day.
Each week, I'm going to suck it up and write about the things that scare me shitless. And hopefully, through writing, I can come to terms and move past them.
Last week, I wrote about my fear of rejection. For my final blog in the series...

Teaser Tuesday #6 - Your problems are problems to you.
For the final teaser + discussion before Empath comes out next week (!!!), a scene that highlights one of my least-favorite behaviors of mine - my penchant for downplaying my own issues when confronted about them.

Teaser Tuesday #5 - How Depression Feels
For this week's teaser, we have a scene in the book that perfectly encapsulates how depression hits for me.

Slay Your Fears with E.L. Wicker
So glad to welcome a brand new face to my guest blogs, E.L. Wicker! She's the author of Fractured Immortal, and an all-around Twitter queen! I hope this is the first of many guest posts for her on the ol' ramblin' blog. Check it out after the jump!

Teaser Tuesday #4 - Assumptions
Today's teaser is the perfect example of someone who is afraid to be honest. Lauren is struggling to keep the Anghenfil (that's the dragon) from seducing her down into her own sadness, and yet won't even admit to those around her that she's in trouble.
See more after the jump.

Teaser Tuesday #3 - Cefin the Cliche
I confess, I had some fun playing with Cefin, the love interest in Empath. Today's teaser demonstrates some of that knight-in-shining-armor trope that I'm talking about.
There's some spoiler-y discussion after the teaser, so if you don't want to be spoiled, then just read the teaser!

Slay Your Fears with Mary Waibel
This week, I invited my friend Mary Waibel to come back and talk with me about some of the things that scare her. She wrote a lovely blog about a fear that authors share - fear of disappointing readers.

Slay Your Fears with Meradeth Houston
We're building up to the release of Empath, and I've asked some of my fellow authors to take the reins and talk about the things that scare them. It's illuminating to see that we're all afraid of (basically) the same thing, and yet inspiring to see how others overcome that fear.

Teaser Tuesday # 1 - Real vs. Imagined Fear
Teaser Tuesdays are back! For Empath, I decided to do things a tad differently. Since this book was written from some very real places in my life, I wanted to talk about where a particular scene originated from.
For the first teaser of Empath (I know, isn't this exciting?), I wanted to talk about a scene that amused me more recently than most. Basically, Lauren finds herself in hot water, and wonders why the Anghenfil doesn't feed on her fear.
